Beryllium-10 / Aluminium-26 surface erosion rate calculator

For calculating the surface erosion rate under the assumption that the erosion rate has been constant long enough for several meters of rock to have been removed.

Site information Units
Sample name: Any string not exceeding 24 characters. Avoid spaces or any other characteres which could be interpreted as delimiters, e.g. backslashes, commas, or quotes. Example: 01-MBL-007-VVB
Latitude: Decimal degrees.
S latitude and W longitude are negative.
Example: 45.9846 or -103.5467
Longitude:
Elevation/pressure: Meters or hPa, depending on selection below.
Elevation values in m, use standard atmosphere
Elevation values in m, use Antarctic atmosphere
Site pressure values in hPa
 Why are there three atmosphere options?
Sample thickness: Centimeters.
Sample density: g cm-3.
Shielding correction: Samples with no topographic shielding, enter 1.
For shielded sites, enter a fraction less than 1.

Nuclide concentrations Units

Atoms g-1. Standard or scientific notation.

Example: 415000 or 4.15e5.

If you have no data for one nuclide, enter zero or leave blank.

Reminders:

1. All measurements should be normalized to the Nishiizumi Al-26 and Be-10 standards (fully referenced in the documentation). For measurements made at LLNL, this is true already; it may require adjusting measurements made at other AMS labs. PRIME Lab users in particular should take note of this.

2. The measurements that you enter here should already take account of carrier and process blanks.
